The airport in Miami, where we waited for 9 hours with nothing to do and nowhere to sit due, because Miami airport is awful. Note that we look suitably excited for a group of girls about to spend a month travelling in Bolivia. | | As soon as we landed in Santa Cruz, Sarah was on the cocaine (she CLAIMS that they are surgical gloves in that bag, but how likely is that?!) | | ...perhaps that's why she is just so happy. | | "So, I've been on the road from 2am English time, flown for 18 hours plus 9 hours waiting in Miami airport, and now I've washed my hair with a bar of soap, and NOW you want to take a photo of me. Tcha." |
Out and about in Santa Cruz. I developed a bit of a pavement obsession - they're all dfferent all over the town!!...You had to be there. | | But even without going there you could have guessed that they had pigeons, right? | | Rather bizarre jet-lag induced look, wandering the streets in Santa Cruz looking for meths for the damed tranjias (in case you need to know, they don't sell meths in Bolivia whatever World Challenge say) | | Bolivia from a bus. This one is taking us from Santa Cruz to Amboro National Park for some trekking. |
Ah, at last, some "culture" in the form of a view. This is the headwaters of the Amazon tributaries - no, "amazon" is not just an bookshop (it also sells electrical wares!) - and here we about to begin some short treks in the rainforest. | | Walking to the campsite where we stayed before starting trekking. You can't see, but we have bags on our fronts as well, like bizarre pregnancy suits. | |
