Upon arrival to the hotel, we all settled in, had some breakfast and took the morning to rest. The altitude of La Paz has affected all of us to some degree, some more than others, and we are all exhausted and most of us with headaches due to the high altitude. In the afternoon, we went into downtown La Paz for a typical Boilvian restaurant and did some souvenir shopping at the Mercado(market). The people of Bolivia are very gracious and soft spoken and all of our interactions thus far have been great.



Despite of the exhaustion from the trip, lack of sleep and altitude, we are all very excited and anxious to begin work at the hospital. Several of the team members went to the hospital today to check on our supplies and the facility and tomorrow will be set-up day and clinic day where we will be screening all of the potential patients. On Tuesday surgeries will begin. Please keep posted to the blog and one of the team will try to make an entry daily, hopefully with some pictures.
